Education and training
The Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association is proud to be your link to training courses and materials. Through our associations with the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA), Saskatchewan Fire Service Instructors Group (SFSIG) and Target Safety you get access to training and educational materials for the fire service and related areas. You can reach professional instruction and materials in areas such as risk management and loss prevention and firefighter safety. Through these resources training becomes more affordable and available to all fire fighters within the province.
Critical Incident Stress Management & debriefing
The SVFFA and Saskatchewan Association of Fire Chiefs (SAFC) have been working together to get this initiative off the ground. Because of the hard work done by the CISM committee, which is made up of members from both associations as well as approximately 40 members who are available to Fire Departments throughout the province who need assistance with CISM/CISD after a traumatic incident. Contact the SVFFA at 306-520-3278 if your department is in need of a debriefing.
