Survival Skills for the First Responder

Melville Fire & Rescue is Hosting:
"Critical Incident Survival Skills for the First Responder
&
Spouse Awareness Program"

Survival Skills for the First Responder educates the class that we are all affected by the calls we have done as well as some that we have not attended.  Some incidents are bigger than others but even the easy calls will add up. The program will help the first responder to better understand how they dealt with things in the past and better understand and be more aware of what may affect them or their team mates and departments. The more self aware we are as first responders will help to maintain a healthy mind, a healthy body , and healthy relationships.

The spouses are the forgotten people in this equation and our spouses are our #1 support person. The spouses awareness program helps them to better understand what some of the effects may be in the first responder and will help them to better understand how they can help and be apart of the healing process.

Please click here for the information packet, including registration form and hotel info, and click here for the course overview.
